TBPA Practices and Procedures
These Harbour Practices and Procedures are issued pursuant to Section 56(1)(b) of the Canada Marine Act to promote safe operations, navigation, and environmental protection within the jurisdiction of the Thunder Bay Port Authority.
They do not supersede applicable federal or provincial legislation, including the Canada Marine Act, Canada Shipping Act, 2001, Pilotage Act, Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, or Fisheries Act.

Updates & Amendments
The practices and procedures govern a dynamic marine operations environment and are updated regularly to reflect international best practices. Under normal circumstances, notice will be given as far in advance as practical but will be no less than thirty (30) days. An emergency amendment may be made to these practices and procedures without notice.
